If you have noticed the nasty smell that blows through Anatolia with some regularity, you are not alone! That smell belongs to our local rendering plant owned and operated by Sacramento Rendering Companies. The plant is located just off of Sunrise Blvd. at Kiefer Blvd., less than 2 miles from the Anatolia master planned community [click here for map].
This site is powered by residents of Anatolia: volunteers who are concerned about our community.
What we would like to do with this site is collect some data so we may better understand when and ultimately why some days are so smelly. With this data, we hope to provide the rendering plant, the SMAQMD, and other homeowners with infromation that can help control the smell.
We encourage you to login on a daily basis and rate the smell. Our “stink-o-meter” is easy to use. Simply click on the bar; 1 for “ahh roses,” no rendering odor, 5 for "peeeewwwww," but odor is intermittent, 10 for “Gag! I can't keep my windows or doors open because the odor is constant from 7-10pm," then click Submit. Your daily rating will be logged in our database for later review.
